For more than 20 years Jeff has held leadership roles in corporate legal departments handling and managing legal operations, technology transactions and licensing, commercial transactions, and other legal matters.

He has built and managed high-performing legal operations functions as the Chief of Staff to the GC, served as a GC, and have both worked as an individual contributor and led functional legal areas.

Jeff is passionate about transforming the world of corporate legal services from a mostly arcane and risk-avoiding function to a modern business model that's all about running legal like a business and delivering a competitive advantage to the business.

With Connie, Jeff founded the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (“CLOC”) in 2016, building its first Board of Directors from companies including Google, Oracle, Facebook, Cisco, Adobe, etc. He served as CLOC’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, as well as a member of its Executive Team and its Board of Directors until the beginning of 2019.

Jeff has helped define and evolve the legal operations role for the industry in many ways including creating CLOC’s 12 Core Competencies and LegalOps.com's Legal Operations Management Reference Model and (together with Dr. Larry Richard and Others) LegalOps.com's Leadership and Personal Effectiveness Reference Model.

Throughout his legal career, Jeff has worked as the Chief of Staff to the General Counsel and Sr. Director of Global Legal Operations at Yahoo, Inc. and has held a variety of roles at Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Oracle Corporation.

As one of the first Legal Operations professionals in the industry when it was still an emergent role, Connie founded and was CEO of CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) where she defined legal operations as we know it. She stepped down in 2019, citing differences of direction.

LegalOps.com is a culmination of her 20+ years of expertise and innovation in the industry, building community and driving leadership.

Connie started her Legal Operations career at Sun Microsystems, and then launched the Legal Operations functions at both Oracle and NetApp, where she served as Vice President, Law, Technology and Operations.

During her tenure at NetApp, she led over a dozen award-winning legal department initiatives that were recognized for their industry-changing results.

Connie holds a JD, an MBA, and a BA in Economics. Published by PLI, Connie co-authored Running Legal Like a Business. She has been lauded as 100 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley, Corporate Counsel’s National Women in Law; Top 10 Deputy General Counsels by the Daily Journal, and was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by ALM, even though she is only halfway through act two.
